Last week, there was an article published on the Huffington Post that highlighted a story on Google’s latest attempt to categorize the countries states based off stereotypes. Based from what people search on our favorite popular search engine, Google created a map that labels each state by what the majority of users view the states to be. Apparently, majority of the people who use Google believes Maryland to be rich. I don’t know where the hell they get that idea from. I see no money over here. As far as the other states, I’d probably ask some of these “Why is whatever the state’s name is so whatever the stereotype” questions, too. Come on now, Why is Florida so hot, or why is New York so expensive? I ponder these mysteries all the time.
Have you ever thought about any of these states living up to its stereotype?
