App of the Week: Happier

Darn-it! I’m so angry. I’m so sad! What am I going to do next? I’m so anxious! We catch ourselves saying  these statements and questions when we don’t like something that’s going on in our lives. Wouldn’t you like something that helps you take your mind off life’s negativity? Of course you do. Who doesn’t? I’ve found an app that does some justice indeed.

Happier App

What does this app do?

According to the iTunes App Store:

“Happier makes you, well, happier!

Happier is a simple and beautiful way to collect happy moments you find in every day, share them with close friends and family, and be reminded to do more of what makes you happier.

It’s inspired by research which shows focusing on the positive and sharing good things with people you care about makes you happier and healthier.

* Capture & collect happy moments. Happy moments can be tiny, like eating something you enjoy, getting an email from a friend, or a hug from your kids.

* Make your close friends and family smile. Feeling positive is contagious in the best way. When you share happy moments with friends and family you help brighten up their day and inspire them to notice the good moments in their lives.

* Discover what makes you happier. See which experiences make you feel good and be encouraged to do them more often.”

What makes you Happy?

According to Doc:

The app allows you to share your happy moments with friends. Duh! It’s simply sharing a happy status. Your happies,or happy moments, are put in categories and are counted so that you’ll know how many things make you happy. It’s starts you off with a goal of three happies for you to share, but you’re not limit to that. The aim is to experience as many happy moments as you can. But by giving you three, it motivates you to recognize that at least three things good happened to you that day and that’s something to feel great about.

I use this app, especially! I love it. People are always so jolly and peachy about what’s going on in their life. It motivates you to do something that makes you happy so that you may post it on the app to share. It’s really something out there that’s suggesting to people to do something gratifying for themselves. I definitely promote it.

App of the Week: AirPush Detector

So you need an app to get rid of those pop-ups that come on your phone from out of nowhere.
AirPush Detector App

What does this App Do?

Google Play Store states:

“This is a simple Android application which detects other installed applications which appear to use known notification ad frameworks and offers the user the ability to easily uninstall them.

Currently detected frameworks include: – Airpush – LeadBolt – Appenda – IAC – Moolah Media

THIS APP DOES NOT *BLOCK* THESE ADS. It only tells you whih applications are causing them. You must uninstall the applications this app identifies to stop the ads.

THERE IS NO OFFICIAL PAID OR “PRO” VERSION OF THIS APP. If you find an app with a similar name, description, and screenshots, odds are strong they have simply taken the source code and republished it as their own without any significant changes.

If you experience crashes, using Android’s “Report” feature is likely to get it fixed. Leaving comments without any useful information is not 🙂

This app is open source – see the development page for full source code.”

There are plenty of apps that have the ability to keep these notifications from your phone. You have to find the right one for you.

Would I use this app?

I spend all yesterday morning playing this game after I woke up. It’s the closest you can get to the original freeplay game that is on PC and Mac Sims 3 game. It’s fun and you can play the entire neighborhood if you wanted to. I recommend this game only to Sims game lovers. People who don’t understand the freeplay game on the original game may not get the enjoyment they get from other sims games that have been brought to iPhone and Android users. Otherwise, download it.

Would I use this app?

I downloaded it and used it until I realized I had to pay for the comics I wanted to read. I was thinking to myself, “Why did I download this on my phone when I have a nook and I can just search the comics on there to buy.” So I deleted it. Either way, it still can be of good use to die-hard comic fans. I have a few friends who would be interested in the app.

App of the Week: Bump

The April 20, 2012 App of the week is Bump! What? Well, Bump is this weeks app of the week not only because it has a funny name but also because it is a great app! Lets talk about the app, shall we…

Bump

What does this app do?

Bump is an application, contact, photo, email, phone number, and name sharing app! Haha, now that’s a lot. You use it when you want to grab some info off another person’s phone or when you want to give away some information of your own to a friend. It’s like an electronic business card. But let me tell the reasons for its name. Bump is called Bump because to share all this information, that so desperately needs sharing, you have to “bump” your phones together to get what you need. You don’t slam them together and it’s not a gentle tap either in order to share your electronic posessions. You simply Bump, which I would explain it as pounding your fist with your friend while holding your phone.

Where can I find this App?

You can find this app on both the Iphone’s App Store and Android’s Google Play. No descrimination here! When you get the app, you can also share with the opposite phones.

Is it Free?

Yes, it is no charge at all to download the app and there isn’t any cost to share with your friends either. Just Bump and go!

Would I Use this app?

Of Course! I’ve downloaded it before. Only reason for me deleting it was because I needed space on my phone to get more apps. I would highly recommend this app to people who are actively involved in the business community. It’s a helping hand to those who don’t like having a lot of business cards.

Instagram for Android

blydenbiztips

Instagram is an app popular in the iphones’ app store.  All that seems like its going to change when the app starts to appear on the android market.

Instagram being transfered to Android phones

Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger announced  at the Southwest Conference on March 11 that there will be an Instagram app for the Android Market very soon. They’ve been working on the app for several months now. The latest prototype is currently testing via private beta before they release the final app. At the conference during the Q&A, Systrom added that “the Android app is incredibly fast, works great on a range of larger screens, and has sharing functionality with Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks.”

Now almost anyone with smart phones will be able to post pictures using instagram. This will move instagrams growth up from 27 millions to many many more. I’m an android user and I can’t wait for the…
